Principal's Corner

October 2018

We are currently finishing our 8th week of school and the warm weather of summer has passed.  It is now time to ensure our students are properly dressed for the cold weather.  We plan to have recess outdoors as long as it is not colder than 16 degrees.  Hat, gloves, warm coat, and proper footwear are required.  

We have a lot of our after school programs starting or soon to start, such as AIE, Art Club, Good News Club, Tech Clubs, and Odyssey of the Mind.  Please be sure to check your child's schedule as their return time home will be later on those nights.

Our PTO appreciates everyone's support for our Fall Coupon Book sales and we are working to wrap that up.  We appreciate all of your assistance in making this a successful fundraiser.  the PTO's next big event will be December 7th - Family Fun Night.  Families will have pizza for dinner starting at 5:00 p.m., pictures with Santa, crafts, Scholastic Book Fair and more.  Families will be able to enjoy the performance by Downbeat Percussion in the gymnasium at 6:30 p.m.  Feel free to wear pajamas.

We have a change in student dropoff that has gone very smoothly.  I would like to encourage everyone to obey the speed limit of 10 mph as you enter and exit the parking lot.  

Please always check the website and calendars for upcoming events and school breaks.  One date I want to bring attention to is November 9th.  This will be 1/2 day for students and lunch will be served that day.

I have enjoyed getting to know Mannsville staff,  students and community.  I am looking forward to being part of the many great events that take place here at Mannsville Elementary.
