If your family is in need of weekend food we are here to help you.
SOUTH JEFF BACKPACK PROGRAM
The South Jeff Backpack Program provides a bag of food to families with children in need of food for the weekend. The only requirements for a family to receive a backpack of food are:

The parent or guardian of the student must fill out an application each school year. You may apply at any time throughout the school year. (Everyone must reapply for the new school year even if you were receiving it in the past).

The student must be registered in the South Jefferson School District.

Bags are sent home on the school bus with the student or parents can pick up the backpack at the greeter’s desk of your student’s school.
Applications are available from the school nurses or guidance counselors.

The South Jeff Backpack Program, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity and operates independently of the South Jefferson School District. We are funded strictly by donations. Anyone who would like to donate, our address is:

Items for donation: Macaroni& Cheese, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Instant Potato, Spaghetti & Sauce, Tuna fish, canned Chicken, Instant Oatmeal, canned Fruits and Vegetables. (Please no glass jars).
