South Jefferson CSD uses a service called School Messenger for automated parent notifcations via phone call and/or text message. All parents (more specifically the names listed in the schooltool call order) are automatically enrolled in this service.
Reasons for notification include:
- Emergency Alerts
- Weather related school delays, closings and early dismissals
- Reminders for events such as student orientation sessions, open house, parent conferences, and school holidays
The numbers that are used by our School messenger service
are listed on your child's call order page in Schooltool. (phone button)
If you are not receiving the notifications via phone or text, please contact the main office of your child's school to verify your established call order.
TEXT MESSAGES AND THE OPT IN CODE: 67587
After the school has your cell phone number on file and your cell phone number is listed on your CALL ORDER, you can receive text messages in addition to the emergency phone call. You must subscribe to notify your cell carrier that you agree to receive text messages. We can not do this for you.
Simply text the word subscribe (or Y or Yes or optin or opt in) to 67587. That's it! You've completed the opt-in process.
You'll know you were successful if you receive the following automatic response:
"You are registered to receive aprox 3 msgs/mo. Txt STOP to quit, HELP for help."
