Solo Festivals
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Each year the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) holds a solo festival. Students performing at the festival will prepare a solo to perform for an adjudicator along with a short sight-reading example. Performing a solo provides vocalists with an opportunity to focus on and improve their singing skills as they prepare their solo. The judge will provide feedback and comments on their vocal performance and students will receive a rating. These ratings can be used to determine if singers will be accepted into All-State, Area All-State, and Bi-County choral ensembles.

The NYSSMA Solo Festival for Spring 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
The MIDDLE SCHOOL In-House Solo Festival here at South Jeff has been suspended.
REHEARSALS:
Singers need to rehearse with Mrs. Bast. Sign-up for a lesson in the choral room. Also you can click here to find recordings of your song so that you can practice at home on your own.
